Bought my first 4oz bag on 7/30/23. Thought it tasted great. Very powerful sweetness and just a little needed for coffee and tea. Had tried some liquid stevia by another company, in a green bottle, and thought the aftertaste was pretty bad, while this powdered stevia had little to no aftertaste.
Bought my second 4oz bag on 6/22/24. Unfortunately, I still had a little bit left from the prior bag, so I didn’t open the new one until after the first one ran out, which was after the return date. If I had tested the new bag when I received it, I would have returned it.
There are three things different now. First, I have to use about double what I used before. Nowhere near as sweet. Next, the prior batch would easily dissolve into liquids, but some of this batch floats. Last, this new batch is very clumpy, where as the prior was more of a powder that easily broke apart. I’m not sure what is causing these issues, but it makes me believe that it’s no longer pure stevia.
And, I’m not the only one who has mentioned a quality change.

First, let me just say, I hate, and I mean HATE stevia! For those of you claiming a finger dipped in it gives you the same or similar taste experience as dipping your finger in traditional table sugar, I don’t want to call you a liar, but, you’re so far from the truth! That is unless your idea of sweet sugar has the taste profile of battery acid or chewed grapefruit seeds, then sure. 😐 To those of you who are getting hyped up on these positive “like sugar” reviews – let me help you level set. Repeat this to yourself as often as you need before clicking “Buy now!’ This. Is. Not. Sugar. In. Any. Way. Shape. Or. Form.
Now that that’s out the way, THIS stevia, this powdered CC Naturals brand is the truth! That is if you are willing to adjust your expectations and appreciate it for what it is – that, not only is it NOT sugar, but that it IS stevia. Once I got past being duped into believing the finger dipping test would yield anything better than the typical bitter back of the tongue aftertaste that is classic stevia, I tried it in liquid. I made a single serving lemonade for myself. Viola – no bitters!! However, it still has that sickening back of the tongue licorice-sweet (witch I only like with licorice) aftertaste. But the way to handle that is a pinch of salt, keeping on adding a small pinch at a time until the sweetness is (a) not as strong and (b) is spread more through out the mouth like sugar or the sweetness of fruits would typically be. Another tactic is to keep adding lemon (or lime) juice until you get the desired result. In instances where a citrusy outcome is not desired, salt, vanilla extract, peppermint and other herbs are great for taming and eliminating any aftertaste. You just have to keep experimenting. I’d buy it again.

Most brands of stevia that are called powdered are granolas. This brand is really powdered – when I opened the bag a huge puff of white whooped up into my face and filled the air with a weird sweetness. Because its so powdered it clumps together when trying to scoop and makes measuring it out more difficult than other brands, like the NOW 4oz can sold here on Amazon which I recommend.
Maybe this type of powder works better as a baking substitute? But for adding to shakes and liquids which is how I use it I much prefer the NOW brand much better.
My Previous April order, was it also “made in China” like my recent Nov. order that just arrived?

A few weeks ago I ordered and received my 3rd order of this Stevia Powder. I love this in my coffee and that’s pretty much the only use I have for it.
I was surprised that a sticker on the clear bag said “made in China. Maybe I didn’t notice the same label on previous orders. Is this something new? I’m hoping the quality and taste are still as good as before. I haven’t opened it yet.
